``OMOTENASHI Selection'', now in its 8th year, has aimed to be a program that leverages the strengths of the executive committee and partner companies to convey the appeal of Japanese products and services to overseas and visitors to Japan. Since October, when the Japanese government's border measures against the new coronavirus were significantly eased, there has been a full-fledged movement toward resuming economic activity with the aim of recovering inbound tourism. In the second period of 2022, in anticipation of the "after-corona" trends, companies and business operators who are keen to actively expand their sales channels and raise awareness both domestically and internationally, as well as not only tourists visiting Japan but also domestically. We received many entries from companies and businesses that are strengthening their efforts to target the permanent/long-term foreign resident market.

■What is OMOTENASHI NIPPON?
This is a project to discover excellent Japanese products and services and disseminate them both domestically and internationally, with the slogan "Bringing Japanese hospitality to the world's OMOTENASHI." The aim is to make the most of the know-how, technology, and networks possessed by each member of the executive committee and participating companies/organizations, and to spread the word about the wonders of Japanese products and services to people both inside and outside of Japan. The aim is not only to target excellent targets that are already attracting attention from around the world, but also to help strengthen the sales capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises who have difficulty securing the necessary management resources.
