The Omi Promotion Council will be hosting an event to support families raising children as part of the 20th anniversary of the merger of Sera Town.
At Sera Kosui Farm, you can enjoy picking sweet, seasonal Kosui pears and a participatory science magic show.
Applications are limited to the first 120 applicants, and the deadline is Friday, September 6th.

What is the Otasho Festival?
This festival conveys the traditional culture of Sera Town, and is named after Otasho, a manor that flourished on the Sera Plateau in the Middle Ages.
Please come and enjoy the dynamic dance and musical performances by the groups that Sera Town is proud of.
＜What is Nijūjitsu Ebisu?＞
It is believed that the "20th Ebisu Summer Festival" was created by combining the memorial service for Kobo Daishi's portrait and Kannon memorial service at Mount Koya, which are held on the 20th of each month, and the summer festival at Ebisu Shrine.
Approximately 30,000 spectators come to enjoy the summer festival, taking in the non-stop kyogen performances and the many outdoor stalls.
What is Niwaka Kyogen?
Hakata Niwaka and Mino Niwaka are famous throughout the country, but what makes Kabutoyama Niwaka unique is the so-called "nagashi niwaka," where the float is stopped in the middle of the street and the performance takes place inside a rope.
The content of Niwa Kyogen plays can be broadly divided into two categories: historical plays and new plays (also called shinpa or modern plays), but all of them have a punch line at the end of the play.
After the punchline is delivered, the story ends with the crowd cheering, "That's just a joke."
During the Meiji and Taisho periods, the main themes were Kabuki-style, but since then, there have been more contemporary, period pieces, and satire of the times.
Many contemporary works incorporate the hot topics of the year, making them easy to understand and entertaining.
Niwaka can be written in various ways, such as "Niwaka", but it also has the meaning of "suddenly" or "niwaka ni", and there are cases where spectators join in and enjoy the performance, or where the performance is performed without much rehearsal.
Lines are skipped and replayed during the performance, but because this is purely amateurish acting, this actually brings out the fun in the spontaneous improvisation.

In the evening, at the 20th day festival, danjiri floats and improvised kyogen performances are held on the street corners.
Fireworks and the Ota Dance festival also add colour to the festival.
Once the sun rises, flower sightseeing is also a good idea!
On the 13th, a "Goldfish Festival for Adults" will be held by Fish Farm Uzuto, a small rural fish farm, at the Sera Roadside Station in Kawajiri, Sera Town.
The highlight of the festival is the "luxury goldfish scooping" event, where you can win Ranchu, also known as the king of goldfish, and the cute-looking Ping Pong Pearls.
You can take home up to five fish for 500 yen each time. If you don't manage to save any, we'll give you two as a gift!
This is a very popular event that can be enjoyed not only by goldfish lovers but also by children.
