February is the coldest month of the year in Okinawa. However, the average temperature in tropical Okinawa remains at 17 °C, which is as warm as spring in Sera. A large collection of Okinawa's proud products, which herald the arrival of spring, is gathered at the Sera Winter Roadside Station.
In addition to standard products such as the irresistibly crunchy "sea grapes" and the famous souvenirs "purple sweet potato tart" and "chinsuko," we offer a diverse lineup of original products that can only be purchased at Okinawa Prefectural Roadside Station Kyoda.
While you wait for spring, why not immerse yourself in a tropical atmosphere at home?

Rafute rice bowl
Rafute is a type of braised pork that has been popular in Okinawa for a long time. The rafute is made by slowly simmering the Sera-produced brand pork "Setouchi Six Grain Pork," which has a sweet aftertaste and a light flavor, in awamori, brown sugar, and soy sauce until it becomes soft and tender, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth texture and mouthfeel. The sweet aroma of awamori, which is faintly similar to vanilla and caramel, is irresistible. Furthermore, the rafute bowl, which is made by placing the rafute on top of Sera rice and eating it with a soft-boiled Sera egg, is definitely worth trying!
